Julian Camilleri Intern

How long was your internship?

Almost six months.

Who was your immediate supervisor?

Remi – the Head of SEO & Affiliates.

What department were you working in?

I’ve worked with various departments as a Content Writer, but mostly in SEO and Creative doing scripts and social media copy.

What was the best thing about working in that department?

The team was fun and interesting; working in a creative manner; learning about SEO from scratch.

Do you think that the department was working to its full potential?

Yes and no. Everyone is hardworking and motivated but tight deadlines don’t always allow us to learn as many new things as we’d like to.

How would you describe your first day in the ANCHOVY. Offices?

I was really anxious and it’s not easy for me to meet new people. I remember hearing Remi screaming about a Google update and felt like it was a relaxed place 🙂

What did you enjoy the most during your stay with ANCHOVY.?

The team & the working environment – from working in a traditional office to a very flexible and cool office was a relief!

Is there anything that you disliked during your stay with ANCHOVY.?

In the beginning, I used to write about one subject only which was a bit of boring. After my one-month review, I spoke to Remi and my work was diversified.

Who made you laugh the most during your stay?

Remi, Sander, and Jack 😉

In your opinion is there anything we can do different to make things better for interns?

Reimburse the expenses haha… But on a more serious note – I don’t think there’s much that should be improved or changed but you have to have a ready-to-learn attitude!

Given the opportunity would you consider working for ANCHOVY. in the future?

How would you describe the Founders?

Really nice but busy.

Did you find all the help you needed to follow through the program?

Yes, I’ve learned a lot from my colleagues. Especially the crash course on SEO & Ahrefs.

What’s the one thing you are taking with you from being at ANCHOVY.?

Better & quicker learning; I got more comfortable speaking to people and I’ve become more open.

What did you think about the Office culture and environment?

It was really encouraging and motivating and there are places to stay on your own (so for someone like me, you not always have to be surrounded by people!)

What about Fridays?

Really interesting and cool, especially the afternoon beers.

Do you feel like you accomplished what you wanted to accomplish from your internship?

Yes and actually more! I got to learn a bit about everything.

How do you feel about leaving?

Quite sad…

Is there anything else you want to add?

Everyone was really helpful and I’m leaving with way more than intended. Thank you!
